Day 1
Arrive KEF – Reykjavik
Upon arrival at Reykjavik airport meet and greet our tour manager at terminal and later proceed to experience the world-famous Blue Lagoon, geothermal spa in Iceland. (Please remember to pack your swimwear.) Indian Dinner. Overnight in Reykjavik or Selfoss. (Meals: L, D)
Day 2
Reykjavik – Golden Circle – Thingvellir, Gullfoss & Geysir – Vik Area
First stop leaving Reykjavik will be at the historically significant Thingvellir National Park. Here you can see how the movements of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates created cracks on the Earth’s crust. Enjoy great photo opportunities in the world-famous hot spring area of Geyser. Wait a few minutes for Strokkur Geyser to erupt and send a spectacular water and steam column high into the air. Close by is the majestic Gullfoss, the ‘Golden Waterfall’. Enroute visit Fridheimar Tomato Farm. Continue along the south shore and stop to admire the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss before arriving in the Vík area for dinner. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Vik – Hotel Katla (ex.Hofdabrekka) or similar.(Meals: B, L, D)
Day 3
Höfn
Check out and proceed to Black Sand Beach. Later cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow on the face of the earth before reaching the Skaftafell National Park. Here you’ll also start seeing the largest glacier in Iceland, the Vatnajökull that covers more than 8% of the island. Continue to the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and see the birthplace of icebergs. Enjoy an Amphibian boat tour at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and get close to the icebergs for a different kind of view. Later visit the magical Diamond beach, overnight in Höfn. Spend the evening in Höfn, the lobster capital of Iceland. Dinner and a black volcanic sand beach next to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Walk between diamond-shaped blocks of icebergs that have drifted ashore from Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. (Meal B, L, D)
Day 4
East Fjord Iceland – Akureyri
Long distance coach. Make sure your camera is charged as you start the day with a drive through the Almannaskard pass where you can stop and admire the majestic coastline. Continue onto the towering mountains plunging vertically into the sea that form the magnificent East Fjords. Stop by the Red Chair , Hvalnes lighthouse, Laekjavik. Visit Petra ́s Mineral Collection in Stödvarfjördur. Learn about Petra, this well-known and beloved local while you wander amongst her vast collection. Pass through the shores of Lake Lagarfljot in the Egilsstadir area. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Akureyri or Myvatn. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 5
East Fjord Iceland, Akureyri
Long distance coach. Explore the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Mödrudalsöræfi, heading to Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Continue towards Námaskard pass with its boiling mud pools and vibrant colors. Explore the natural beauty of the Lake Myvatn area including the magical lava formations of Dimmuborgir. Head towards the bustling northern port of Akureyri with a stop at the magnificent Godafoss waterfall. Akureyri boasts some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored to their original glory. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Akureyri or Myvatn . (Meal B, L, D)
Day 6
Akureyri
Long distance coach. Walking orientation tour of charming Akureyri- The Church, Botanical Gardens , Old Town Pedestrian street. Majestic mountains and narrow passes lead to the Skagafjördur area famous for horses and history. In this region enjoy a visit to a horse farm and learn about the unique Icelandic horse breed – (Horse Ride is optional). Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Borganess / Bifrost area. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 7
Reykjavik
Long distance coach ending: Reykjavik. Snæfellsnes is a unique area with a variety of geological interest such as lava fields, volcano crater, glacier, springs, beautiful formed rock, yellow and black sand beaches and caves as well as interesting bird life and the famous Kirkjufell mountain. The main attraction is without a doubt Snæfellsjökull glacier, a beautifully shaped strato volcano at the very end of the peninsula. The glacier is also known as the location for Jules Verne’s novel ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’, captured in the unspoilt natural wonder surrounding it. This afternoon completes your circuit around Iceland as you arrive back in Reykjavik. Celebrate tonight with a Farewell Dinner and Overnight in Reyjavik Hotel or similar. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 8
Reykjavik
Today enjoy the city tour of Reykjavik. visit to Perlan Museum which is Iceland’s Iconic attraction and nature museum offering panoramic views of the city, interactive exhibits, northern lights planetarium film and a unique glacier ice cave experience. Later visit the Fly Over Iceland a unique ride which will take you on an exhilarating journey across Iceland made by state of the art technology and special effects to provide an unforgettable experience. Continue the Orientation tour of Reykjavik city – Hallgrimskirkja Church , Sun Voyager and enjoy some free time. Tonight enjoy a farewell Dinner. Overnight in Reykjavik. (Meals: B,L,D)
Day 9
Depart from Reykjavik
After breakfast, depart to the KEF airport as you fly back home. (Meals: B)
